Included here are: 'Aladdin Sane', his American journey album from 1973, 'Ziggy Stardust' - arguably his finest moment in 1973 and the 'Pierrot' look from the 'Scary Monsters' album period. The dimensions of each are: 10ins. tall x 8ins. wide x 5ins. deep. Each is a limited edition of 500 worldwide.

(Private commission - 2002).

An example of a typical bust sculpture in progress. A sturdy wood or metal armature is affixed to a base initially and then wound with string or draped with chicken-wire to accomodate the weight and distribution of the clay which is applied steadily. Proportions and features are 'blocked in' and then detail is introduced when the previous criteria are established.

I've used terracotta here - a beautiful, smooth clay which gives a lovely finish to sculptures.

A tribute to my favourite David Bowie album of all time: 'Hunky Dory'. A precursor to the vision of 'Ziggy Stardust', the cover of the album depicts Bowie in a glamorous pose reminiscent of a (quote) "young Lauren Bacall". The paintwork emulates the speckled, slightly blurred iconic image on the LP. The piano-based melodies within will never date or die, reflecting a proliferant period of songwriting from Bowie and the dreamy and sometimes dark days of the immediate hangover from the 'Swinging Sixties' - the early Seventies.
