Left:  Sculpture of the 'Hammerpede' as featured in the film 'Prometheus'.

This is a solid-cast, weighty resin sculpture inspired by the savage alien 'Hammerpede' as featured in the film 'Prometheus'.
The tiny indigenous worms on the alien planet's surface are inadvertently transported by the explorers to the cavernous 'Ampule Chamber' via the soles of their moonboots. Subsequently, the worms come into contact with the leaking black fluid that seeps from the ampules upon the explorers' breaching of the sealed temple area. The resultant creature grows at a phenomenal rate to a snake-sized abomination which, despite it's intial strange butterfly-like allure, is capable of snapping the arm of an adult human in a relentless constrictive fashion. The sculpture depicts the Hammerpede rising
up from the strange black fluid which apparently has been created by the 'Engineers' and which has the power to corrupt and re-construct DNA molecules and to seed life.

Decapitated Space Jockey Head
Decapitated Space Jockey Head

Dimensions:
Height: 18 cms
Width:  17.5 cms
Length: 30 cms
Average weight of each cast : approx 2 kgs
Material: hollow cast polyester resin.

A weighty sculpture hand-made by me and inspired by the decapitated ossified creature head in the araidley Scott film 'Prometheus'. I have sculpted this with some artistic licence to create an ornamental sculpture. The Space Jockey enigma is touched upon in the film where it is revealed that the 'Space Jockey'  head found in the 'Ampule Chamber' is actually a helmet containing the head of a long-dead 'Engineer'.
